Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad intended on sending a letter to Pope Benedictus XVI, according to a Thursday report by a Teheran newspaper.
The editor of the newspaper, who is considered a close associate of the nation's spiritual leader Eli Haminai, refused to provide details on the contents of the letter.
Ahmadinejad also sent a letter to US President George W. Bush one month ago, Army Radio reported.
