Report: Kurdish rebels wound 9 in attack on Turkish military convoy

A news agency says Kurdish rebels have attacked a Turkish military convoy with a roadside bomb, wounding nine. The private Dogan news agency says eight soldiers and a pro-government Kurdish official were wounded in the explosion near the town of Semdinli in the Turkish province of Hakkari, which borders both Iran and Iraq. Thursday's attack came amid intensified military operations against the rebels who have been fighting for autonomy in the country's Kurdish-dominated southeast since 1984.
