Report: Taliban did not kidnap German aid worker

Taliban militants were not responsible for the kidnapping of a German woman in Afghanistan's capital, police said Sunday. Ali Shah Paktiawal, head of police criminal investigations in Kabul, said authorities had launched a large-scale manhunt for those behind the kidnapping of the 31-year-old German aid worker who was abducted by armed men from a restaurant in Kabul on Saturday. Paktiawal ruled out involvement of the Taliban in the abduction, but would not say who was responsible.
