A US State Department official says Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is going to the Middle East early next month.
She will be trying to revive Israeli-Palestinian peace talks that have not progressed much since President George W. Bush's visit to the region last month.
Rice is meeting Monday with Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas.
