Roed-Larsen: Israeli activity in Lebanon excessive

UN Middle East envoy Terje Roed-Larsen said on Saturday that Israel's activity in Lebanon was excessive. Still, he added, the return to the previous situation was unacceptable. He suggested that a ceasefire would not be possible unless it completely changes the current reality. Roed-Larsen told Israel Radio that any understanding reached between Israel and Lebanon would require wide Syrian support.
