Russia denounces N. Korean missile tests

Russia's Foreign Ministry on Wednesday denounced a series of brazen North Korean missile tests as a provocation that would heighten tension surrounding the isolated nation's nuclear drive, the Interfax news agency reported. "We can say that the missile launches clearly do not contribute to a strengthening of trust-building measures in the region," Foreign Ministry spokesman Mikhail Kamynin was quoted as saying. North Korea test-launched six missiles including a long-range Taepodong in an early morning barrage Wednesday, violating its own seven-year moratorium on such launches and defying stern international warnings of retaliation.
