A Russian general has issued an ultimatum to Georgian forces near the breakaway province of Abkhazia to disarm or face Russian troops moving into Georgian-controlled territory.
Georgian Security Council chief Alexander Lomaia says Gen. Sergei Chaban in charge of Russian peacekeepers in Abkhazia conveyed the demand Monday via UN military observers in the area.
