'Saudi Arabia and Egypt may know of US or Israeli plans to attack Iran'

Saudi Arabia and Egypt may know of American or Israeli plans to attack Iran in the near future, Al Quds Al Arabi reported Monday, citing diplomatic sources in Britain. According to the London-based newspaper, this knowledge was apparently the reason for the warning issued by Egyptian President Mubarak and Saudi King Abdallah after the two met in Alexandria on Saturday. At the end of the meeting, the presidential palace spokesman in Cairo issued a statement saying it was advisable that Iran not provide the West with a pretext to attack it, as Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein did in the past.
