A total of seven people in eastern Turkey and in the Turkish capital, Ankara, have tested positive for bird flu, health authorities announced Sunday.
At least one of them, a 5-year-old, had contracted the virulent H5N1 strain of the disease that killed at least two children earlier this week.
Preliminary tests in Turkey also found the strain in an 8-year-old, officials said.
