Spain arrests three in raid on suspected Islamic fundraising cell

Spanish police arrested three Algerians Thursday on suspicion of belonging to an Islamic terror cell, authorities said. The arrests were made in Vitoria, capital of the Basque region, and the cell is suspected of distributing CDs and MP3 files containing propaganda calling for the Islamic community to wage jihad, or holy war, Basque police said in a statement. Police began investigating the suspects in December. They said the three, each about 30 years old, had police records for minor offenses.
