Spanish prosecutor urges court to charge 4 alleged Nazi camp guards

News reports say prosecutors have urged the National Court to indict four alleged former Nazi concentration camp guards and seek their extradition from the United States over the deaths of Spanish citizens. Europa Press news agency says prosecutors Monday said they backed the case brought last month by Brussels-based rights organization Equipo Nizkor in the name of relatives. The suspects are John Demjanjuk, an 88-year-old retired auto worker in Ohio who is also being sought by Germany; Anton Tittjung; Josias Kumpf; and Johann Leprich. The United States has been trying for years to deport all four for lying on their immigration papers about their Nazi past, but no country is willing to take them, so they continue to live in America, Nizkor has said.
