The trial of Holocaust denier Ernst Zundel will restart February 9, a German court said Wednesday, and a verdict is expected in March.
The trial at the Mannheim state court in southwestern Germany had to be rescheduled after the presiding judge in November fired one of Zundel's defense lawyers. The court said that a verdict is now scheduled for March 16.
Zundel, 66, who was deported to his native Germany from Canada last March, faces charges of incitement, libel and disparaging the dead.
He faces a maximum sentence of five years in jail if convicted.
A prominent white supremacist and Holocaust denier since the late 1970s, Zundel ran Samisdat Publishers, a leading distributor of neo-Nazi literature based in Canada.
Zundel, who emigrated to Canada in 1958, says he is a peaceful man and that Canadian and German officials are working together to deny him his right to free speech.
