The UN Security Council condemned an attack on a plane carrying Ivory Coast's prime minister Friday and urged all sides of the West African country's conflict to respect a nascent peace deal.
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon also denounced the attack and reminded Ivorians that the peace agreement "represents a unique opportunity for a peaceful solution to the protracted Ivorian crisis."
Prime Minister Guillaume Soro was unharmed in the attack. Three others were killed when the aircraft made a rough landing after coming under heavy gunfire in the country's north.
