UN: Sudanese forces attack Darfur refugee camp

The UN says it's received reports that Sudanese government forces have attacked a Darfur refugee camp and that civilians have been killed. A statement issued Monday says Sudanese police vehicles surrounded the Kalma camp in southern Darfur. It says subsequent attacks reportedly caused "injuries and deaths of civilians." Another statement from the aid group Doctors Without Borders says at least 65 wounded have been admitted to one of its clinics nearby. Kalma is home to more than 80,000 Darfur refugees. Sudan's president has been accused of genocide and crimes against humanity for alleged government attacks on ethnic Africans in the country's troubled western region.
