The United States is consulting other governments on possible follow-up action to an investigation into the assassination of Lebanon's former prime minister and a report on the disarmament of militias in the country, US Ambassador to the UN John Bolton said Wednesday. He refused to confirm a report that the United States and France are readying new Security Council resolutions critical of Syria over its alleged involvement in the assassination of Rafik Hariri and alleged arms funnelling to Lebanese militias. "What I will confirm is discussions about eventualities and contingencies that may emerge depending on what the ... reports say," Bolton told reporters. "Until we actually get the reports....we haven't made decisions on anything."
