US envoy expects N. Korean nuclear talks to resume

The US envoy on North Korea's nuclear program said Monday that a fresh round of high-level talks is expected soon. US Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Hill said the US side was disappointed with a lack of progress during the last round of six-nation talks in December but that he believed there was "a basis for making progress" in the coming round. Hill said he and his counterpart, Wu Dawei "agreed on the need to try to get the six party talks (started) as soon as possible." "We hope that the Chinese government will be able to announce soon the start up of the talks," he said.
