US envoy says talks on North Korean nuclear programs to start soon

The US envoy to talks on stripping North Korea of its nuclear program said the country may hand over a long-delayed list of its nuclear activities as soon as Thursday. "That's been our target date, as the White House spokeswoman said today," US Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Hill told reporters. Hill said he met his Chinese counterpart Wu Dawei on Monday and that they discussed what will happen after North Korea submits its list of nuclear programs, which was due at the end of last year. "It will take many months to verify the amounts of fissile material," he said.
