US Marines at Camp Pendleton in southern California reacted positively to the news that al Qaida leader Osama Bin Laden had been killed in a firefight with US special forces.
The mood among marines at Camp Pendleton in southern California was happy but subdued after hearing that Bin Laden was killed in a US raid on a Pakistan compound.
The soldiers have lost many comrades in Afghanistan -- and to them Bin Laden's killing didn't come a minute too soon.
"It's about time. That was my first reaction. It's about time we finally got him," one marine said.
Another marine said he's proud to be American.
