US military reports two soldiers dead in Iraq

A US soldier was killed Tuesday in fighting in the volatile Anbar province, the military said. The soldier assigned to Multi-National Force - West was killed while conducting combat operations in the insurgent stronghold west of Baghdad, according to a statement. Another American soldier assigned to the Multi-National Division died Sunday of a non-combat cause, the military said Tuesday in a separate statement. It did not provide more details. At least 3,148 members of the US military have died since the Iraq war started in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count.
