US Senator to push Congress for Indian nuke deal

Visiting US Senator Joe Lieberman said he would work to ensure a recently agreed nuclear deal with India is accepted in the United States. The deal, which has been hailed as the cornerstone of a new strategic alliance between the two countries, has run into opposition in both nations and must still be passed by the US Congress. "I will do everything I can to help see it through the United States Senate," Lieberman, an independent senator from Connecticut, told reporters Sunday.
