Venezuela accuses Washington of smear campaign against China

Venezuela's government is accusing the United States of leading a smear campaign aimed at discrediting China as Beijing prepares to host the Olympics.
Venezuela's foreign ministry issued a statement Tuesday saying Washington was using "psychological warfare" to sabotage the Olympics.
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez also has accused the United States of promoting violence in Tibet.
The US Embassy in Caracas did not immediately respond to calls seeking comment.
