Yemen president in Spain for talks on anti-terrorism cooperation

Yemen's President Ali Abdullah Saleh met with King Juan Carlos on Tuesday as part of a three-day visit to Spain during which he is expected to discuss trade and anti-terrorism cooperation. Yemen has pledged its support in the fight against terrorism, a vow it renewed in July after a suicide bombing in Yemen killed eight Spanish tourists and two Yemenis. Saleh, on his first visit to Spain, arrived in Madrid on Monday. The king greeted him at Zarzuela Palace, the royal residence on Madrid's outskirts, at noon on Tuesday. The two were to have lunch later with Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, who was also to have talks with the Yemeni leader in the evening at government headquarters.
