45% of UN members filed reports on compliance with Iran sanctions

The head of the UN committee monitoring sanctions against Iran says only 45 percent of the 192 UN member states have filed mandatory reports on how they are complying with the measures. The UN Security Council has imposed three rounds of sanctions on Iran for its refusal to suspend uranium enrichment, most recently in early March. Belgium's UN Ambassador Johan Verbeke told the council on Monday that the committee has received 88 reports on compliance with the initial sanctions imposed on Dec. 23, 2006.
