Danish Foreign Minister Per Stig Moeller said Friday he hoped Iran would respond positively to a package of incentives by six nations to persuade Teheran to freeze suspect nuclear activities.
"The proposal includes a series of attractive elements for Iran, including the possibility for European support to the development of a civilian Iranian nuclear exploitation," Moeller said in a statement.
"I would like to stress that I would rather see a negotiated settlement rather than a confrontation," he said. "However, such a negotiated settlement depends on whether Iran creates confidence and not least gives guarantees through concrete actions that the Iranian nuclear program has a civilian purpose."
