EU foreign policy chief hopes to visit Iran soon for talks

The European Union's foreign policy chief, Javier Solana, said Monday he hopes to travel to Iran soon to discuss international concerns about the country's nuclear program. "I hope that I will be going to Teheran soon. I cannot give you the date, but I hope that it will be within the month," Javier Solana told reporters after a meeting of EU foreign ministers. He is expected to discuss a repackaged set of incentives from major World powers aimed at persuading Iran to halt its uranium enrichment program - a technology that could give Iran a pathway to developing nuclear weapons.
