Heads of IAEA and Iran's nuclear agency to meet Thursday

The heads of the International Atomic Energy Agency and Iran's top nuclear official plan to meet Thursday in the wake of abortive talks between Tehran and the six world powers seeking to curb its nuclear program. The agency said the meeting is planned but has not said what it's about or provided other details. A diplomat close to the UN nuclear watchdog said the encounter was requested by Gholam Reza Aghazadeh, head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization. The diplomat spoke on condition of anonymity because the information was confidential. The talks will come less than a week after a meeting between a senior Iranian nuclear negotiator and the six world powers ended with no progress, despite the first-time presence of an official from the US.
