Iran names veteran diplomat as foreign ministry spokesman

Iran has appointed former ambassador and lawmaker Hasan Qashqavi as the foreign ministry's spokesman. He replaces Mohammad Ali Hosseini, who has been named deputy foreign minister in charge of legal and international affairs. He has been the spokesman for the past two years. Qashqavi served on parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee between 2000 to 2004 and as Iran's ambassador to Sweden and Kazakhstan.
