Iran: We're not concerned in principle about Israel-Syria negotiations

Iran is not worried in principle about peace negotiations between Israel and Syria, an Iranian government official was quoted as saying Friday. In an interview with A-Sharq Alawsat, the official stressed, however, that if it becomes clear that ties between the two sides will lead to disarming Hizbullah, it will be a cause of concern to Iran and will destabilize ties between Teheran and Damascus. The official told the London-based newspaper that the crucial question was what sort of ties Syria would form with Israel - strategic, security and economic ties, or a peace accord like the Israel -Egypt agreement which, he said, was nothing more than a cease-fire.
