Missing Iranian general Ali Rez Asghari, who disappeared during a recent trip to Turkey, is currently at a NATO base in Germany, London's Sunday Times reported on Sunday morning.
According to the report, Asghari, a senior defense official who formerly served in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, spent the last four years spying for Western intelligence services and fled Iran after the country's secret service began to suspect him.
Asghari was reported interrogated at the NATO base over the weekend.
Arab media reports have blamed both the West and the Mossad for the former deputy defense minister's disappearance, which was reported less than two weeks ago.
