Rice welcomes Iran's readiness to hold talks

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on Friday welcomed indications from Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that Teheran was willing to hold talks with the five permanent members of the UNSC on Iran's nuclear enrichment program. Rice called Ahmadinejad's consent to talks a "positive development," and stressed that the US was still waiting for an answer from Iran on the package of incentives offered by western nations to convince Iran to cease enriching uranium, Army Radio reported.
