Turkey's prime minister on Thursday urged Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to allow a Turkish diplomat to meet with the seized British seamen and also urged the release of the captured British woman sailor, state television reported.
The state television also reported what are believed to be Ahmadinejad's first comments on the standoff with Britain. The president accused Britain of using propaganda in the case rather than trying to solve it through diplomatic channels.
Ahmadinejad did not himself appear in the report.
