Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan met with a delegation of US diplomats stationed in the EU on Sunday and said that “the current situation in Gaza is further proof that the attitude calling on Israel to further withdraw failed,” a press release on behalf of the ministry said.

The US delegation is led by US ambassador in Israel David Friedman. It includes head of the US Commission for the preservation of America’s heritage abroad, Paul Packer, and US Special envoy for monitoring and combating antisemitism, Elan Carr.

Erdan met the delegation in Israel after they attended the March of the Living in Poland.

“If we relinquish control of the West Bank,” Erdan said, “it would become like Gaza and from its territory rockets will be fired on the State of Israel.”

The minister told the US diplomats he had spoken with US Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin and suggested Mnuchin begin an investigation into BDS activities in the US as “we have evidence they are in communication with known terrorist groups.”

Erdan further said he hopes that when a new EU high representative for foreign affairs and security policy is named he or she will ensure the EU end funding BDS.
