A group of 12-year-old Petah Tikva girls found US$33,000 cash in a small cupboard while looking for wood for Lag B'Omer. The girls split the money between them and went home. When their parents found out about the money, they reported it to the police, who came to collect the money from the families. From evidence found in the chest, the police learned the identity of its owner. When approached by police, she said that the chest and the money belonged to her elderly mother, who had thrown it out without knowing the cash was inside.
