16-year-old confesses to murdering youth in Beersheba

Suspect confesses to killing 15-year-old and recreates crime to police interrogators; argument began over cigarette.

A 16-year-old who was arrested on suspicion of involvement in the murder of a 15-year-old youth in Beersheba overnight Friday, confessed to stabbing the victim and recreated the crime to police interrogators on Saturday.
According to the suspect, the impetus for the murder was an argument over a cigarette.
The suspect was scheduled to be taken to Beersheba Magistrate's Court for a remand hearing on Sunday.
A 15-year-old teenage boy died of stab wounds in Beersheba on Friday night after being involved in a fight with other youths near an absorption center, police said.
The youth, a resident of Kiryat Arba, was found in a mortally wounded state by a passer-by and was rushed by paramedics to the Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba, but died of his injuries soon after arrival.
Police launched an investigation, and arrested four suspects on Saturday - three minors and an adult - on suspicion of being involved in fight which led to the youth's death.
