17 Arabs arrested for Jerusalem rioting

Jerusalem police have arrested 17 Arabs who took part in this week's rioting in east Jerusalem, police said Wednesday. The suspects, which include both minors and adults, include the four primary suspects in the assault of two Jerusalem municipal workers on Monday. A Jerusalem court has extended the remand of ten of the detainees. All 17 suspects will be indicted, police said. Jerusalem police chief Aharon Franco said Tuesday that dozens of suspects are wanted by police for taking part in the violent protests against the Gaza fighting. The protests began to ebb on Wednesday.
