250 North American Jews making aliya

A planeload of immigrants is scheduled to bring 250 North American Jews to Israel this week. The flight, which is to land December 28 at Ben-Gurion International Airport, is the seventh flight sponsored in 2005 by Nefesh B'Nefesh, an organization that facilitates aliya for Jews from the United States and Canada. The flight marks the culmination of a year in which the largest number of Jews from North America has immigrated to Israel since 1984. According to the Jewish Agency for Israel, which works in partnership with Nefesh B'Nefesh, the number of new olim this year has topped 3,000.
