A-G: Itzik has to be both Knesset head, president

Attorney-General Menahem Mazuz said Monday that Knesset Speaker Dalia Itzik, who was appointed acting president on Thursday after the Knesset House Committee voted to temporarily suspend President Moshe Katsav, must retain her current position, as well, Israel Radio reported. Mazuz, who came to the Knesset to instruct Itzik on her new role, said the Knesset speaker may not transfer her authority while acting as president.
