Attorney-General Menahem Mazuz has decided not to open a criminal investigation against MK Estherina Tartman (Israel Beitenu) over Tartman's statements regarding the appointment of Muslim MK Ghaleb Majadle (Labor) to the cabinet in place of MK Ophir Paz-Pines.
Tartman raised a storm when she called Majadle's appointment the "end of Zionism," among other statements that were vilified as "racist."
Mazuz announced his decision Monday in a letter to Meretz chairman Yossi Beilin, in which he said he intended to limit the number of investigations into MKs statements.
