In an interview with Channel 1, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said that a deal has been reached to free kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Schalit, although details still have to be worked out.
In excerpts from the interview aired Thursday night, Abbas said that "we agreed recently on a framework (for freeing Schalit) in agreement with the Egyptians, and this process is happening quickly."
Officials in Israel had no immediate comment.
The full, exclusive interview is to be aired on Channel 1 on Friday evening at 9 p.m.
