Alleged fake school head busted‡

The police's Economics Crimes Unit arrested the head of a non-profit organization in the haredi town of Betar Illit on Tuesday on suspicions of setting up a fictitious school and pocketing the profits. Police said the head of the Shem Shimon organization forged education ministry documents and reported a fictitious number of students in order to receive state funding. Police raided the organization's offices on Tuesday, confiscated documents and detained several workers including the head of the organization.
