Barak says peace with Lebanon, Syria is possible

Defense minister visits Northern border, expresses hope that one day volatile area will be peaceful: "IDF has every intention of making peace."

During a visit to the Lebanon border on Thursday, Defense Minister Ehud Barak expressed hope that one day the volatile area would be peacful.
Barak said "we are currently in the middle of talks with the Palestinians and hope that we can overcome all the obstacles before us."

"I believe that peace with Lebanon and Syria is possible and we can not lose hope for a moment," the defense minister added.
"In the past, who would have thought that there would be peace with Egypt and we would be able to go and visit the pyramids up close," Barak said.
Barak highlighted that "we also achieved peace with Jordan. The IDF has every intention of making peace."
