Barakeh 'outraged' over Court's decision to stop rally for PFLP founder

MK Muhammad Barakeh (Hadash) condemned on Friday a ruling by the High Court of Justice preventing a memorial rally for Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine founder George Habash. Barakeh expressed outrage over the justices' ruling and claimed that they had been swayed by confidential intelligence presented by the state that indicated that the rally's organizers were members of a terror organization. The Hadash MK called the High Court's decision a "black spot on the history of racist decisions against the Israeli Arab population." The Adalah human rights group, meanwhile, said it was "disappointed" by the ruling. According to the organization, the judges based their decision on erroneous evidence. Adalah called the ruling "dangerous," and said that it could "endanger basic freedoms."
