Beilin slams colleagues for supporting Shalit swap

Meretz Chairman Yossi Beilin condemned on Tuesday party members Ran Cohen and Zehava Gal-On who had expressed support for conducting negotiations to free Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the release of kidnapped Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit. "Pubic statements supporting the acceptance of conditions of Palestinian terrorist organizations are a grave error," said Beilin. "The greatest efforts should be made to secure the captive's unconditional release by exerting pressure on officials in the Palestinian Authority," continued the Meretz leader.
