Central elections committee head Judge Dorit Beinish called an urgent meeting of the committee Tuesday night to discuss Channel 2's decision to cancel the broadcast of Tuesday's election ads.
Channel 2 reportedly decided to use the air time for a special update on events following the siege of the Jericho Prison.
A committee source told Army Radio that Channel 2 may have acted illegally by deciding unilaterally not to air the election promos.
