The head of the Central Elections Committee, Supreme Court Justice Dorit Beinish, is set to adjudicate Wednesday on a complaint brought by Labor over MKs Shimon Peres, Haim Ramon and Dalia Itzik. Labor petitioned the committee to forbid the MKs from joining Kadima's party list for the 17th Knesset.
Labor party representatives petitioned the committee, citing a Knesset law that prevents MKs who switched parties without resigning from their Knesset positions from running for the Knesset with their new party.
Labor complained that since the three MKs didn't resign from their Knesset posts before leaving the Labor party, they couldn't join Kadima's list.
