Infrastructure Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer said Tuesday that the state was preventing Arab citizens from getting jobs in government companies.
"There's a huge group of talented engineers who simply can't get to these positions in the Israeli public sector," Ben-Eliezer said at an Arab-Israeli business conference in Herzliya.
He also announced that he intended to expedite the entry of Arab workers into the electric and water companies.
The deputy governor of the Bank of Israel responded by saying that it was impossible to help the Arab population without the development of transportation infrastructure and Arab towns.
