MK Binyamin Ben-Eliezer announced that he would boycott the Labor Party meeting scheduled for Thursday morning. His associates were angry at Labor Chairman Amir Peretz, claiming he was trying to weaken Ben-Eliezer in order to pave the way for Ehud Barak to rejoin the top of the party. Peretz's people thought, as of Thursday morning, that Barak would not take a place on Labor's Knesset list, but instead would make an effort to meet and find a way the two men could work together in the upcoming elections.
