Betar owner Gaydamak says starting political party

Russian billionaire Arkadi Gaydamak announced Sunday, speaking on Channel 9, that he was considering becoming involved in politics and establishing a new Russian political party in Israel. Gaydamak said that in the upcoming days he would assemble a list of party candidates. Gaydamak made his fortune in the diamond and arms industries. Gaydamak is also the official owner of the Betar Jerusalem soccer team and serves as president of the Congress of Jewish Religious Communities and Organizations of Russia, or KEROOR, Russia's oldest religious Jewish umbrella group.
