IDF at work to release Israeli, said to cross border by accident.

Egyptian security forces detained an Israeli motorcyclist on Saturday. The man crossed the border into Egypt near Wadi Lavan, apparently inadvertently.The motorcyclist is Sagi Shhori, 36 year-old married Kadesh Barnea resident and the father of a 5-year-old boy.Egyptian police are questioning him, but say he might have strayed into Egypt accidentally.Shhori has been taken to Rafah for questioning. The fact he was carrying a revolver on him when arrested, may complicate attempts to secure his release.The IDF liaison unit to Egypt is working on his release, Israel Radioreported they were confident Shhori would be released soon, based onthe fact his crossing of the border seemed to be an accident.RamatHanegev region officials confirm that the border was most likelycrossed inadvertently. The signs marking the border around the areaShhori was found were washed away in the floods a few months back, andsecurity officials on both sides have not taken action to replace themso far.The Israeli government is looking to put up a landbarrier along the Sinai border to prevent hostile infiltration andsmuggling, but it is only in the planning stages.
