Bill giving Knesset authority to force PM's suspension passes 1st hurdle

The Knesset plenum approved the preliminary reading of an amendment to a bill which would give the Knesset the authority to force the prime minister to suspend himself should a criminal investigation be opened against him or in cases of deteriorating health.
The amendment passed by 24 votes to two.
